Chicago Bulls guard Derrick Rose certainly put on a show his rookie season, proving he was more than worth the No. 1 overall pick in last year’s NBA Draft.
However, Rose is still struggled with a vital part of the game that could really take his play to the next level: his shooting.
The guard is spending the summer with a shot doctor working hard on his shooting form in hopes of better numbers next season.
The biggest challenge for Rose is to stop floating backward as he shoots, a habit he worked hard to break toward the end of the regular season.

The Chicago Bulls have re-signed veteran guard Lindsey Hunter to a one-year contract.
It will be Hunter’s 17th season in the NBA, something he thought he would never get to experience.
Hunter was never much of a scorer and certainly isn’t now at his age, but he remains a defensive specialist and solid role player.
He averaged 2.6 points and 1.3 assists per game in 28 games last year with the Bulls. He has played for five different teams over his 16 years in the NBA.

After acquiring forward Tim Thomas in a trade, the team has promptly bought out the rest of his contract.
It marks the end of the forward’s second stint with the Bulls, and it was an extremely short one.
Thomas was acquired by the Bulls back in February, and he averaged 5.8 points and 2.3 rebounds per game.
After selecting both James Johnson and Tahj Gibson in the NBA Draft, there was no more room for Thomas.

Guard Ben Gordon said that the Chicago Bulls never offered him a contract, which is why he left and headed to Detroit.
Gordon signed a contract with the division rival Detroit Pistons and will see a lot of the Bulls in the coming years.
He said he was disappointed in the Bulls’ actions because the team told him it was their top priority to re-sign him.
The guard still cashed in, signing a five-year contract worth $50 million to move a couple of states over.

Looking for a banger in the low post, the Chicago Bulls selected James Johnson with their first round draft pick.
Johnson is definitely considered a little bit on the raw sign but really has an unlimited ceiling.
He has the ability to drive to the basket and knock down open shots from the outside, although he will look to improve his shooting percentage.
Some teams were scared away from him because of his recent weight gain, but the Bulls don’t seem to think it will be an issue.
