Bulls soar past sputtering Pistons
By Bud L. Ellis
Two wins in a row have the Chicago Bulls feeling better about themselves.
Luol Deng’s 27 points and the free-falling Detroit Pistons being in town Monday spurred the Bulls to their second consecutive victory, a 120-87 romp that moved Chicago to within four games of .500 (16-20).
Derrick Rose added 22 points and nine assists as Chicago torched the overmatched and undermanned Pistons, who have lost 13 in a row. Ahead 28-25 after one quarter, the Bulls blew things open in the middle two quarters, outscoring Detroit 69-44 in the middle 24 minutes.
Joakim Noah scored 17 for the Bulls and pulled down 11 rebounds. John Salmons pumped in 17 points off the bench for Chicago, which shot 57 percent from the field.
Detroit hasn’t won since knocking off Golden State exactly one month ago.
