NEWS
The Chicago Bulls are interested in Los Angeles Lakers head coach Phil Jackson and have made him aware of that fact.
Jackson is in the final year of his contract with the Lakers, who have made it known he will have to take a pay cut to return.
The legendary head coach is not likely to take a pay cut given his stature and could return to Chicago, where he won six NBA titles.
This time, instead of Michael Jordan leading the way, it could be Jackson taking LeBron James under his wings.
The Bulls will just have to sit and wait and watch as things unfold with the Lakers still in the NBA playoffs.

You know something big must be happening when even President Obama has to weigh in with his opinion.
The LeBron James sweepstakes have risen even to a presidential level, making it one of the biggest stories in the NBA in years.
President Obama, a self-admitted huge Chicago sports fan, thinks James would do well to sign with the Bulls.
Some fans are making a big deal about this, saying the president shouldn’t be getting involved in such matters.
Who cares? He is allowed to be a basketball fan just like the next person, and it’s obvious he is very interested in the situation.

The Chicago Bulls are quietly eyeing up LeBron James and seem like the most likely team to land the pending free agent.
Rumors are circling that James would be a package deal along with Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari.
Many are strongly denying that James would be requesting such a deal, but the rumors persist anyway.
It would be an interesting move considering all of the comparisons of James and Michael Jordan.
LeBron also will be looking at the Miami Heat, New York Knicks, New Jersey Nets and hometown Cleveland Cavaliers.

Kentucky Wildcats head coach John Calipari is intrigued by the idea of coaching the Chicago Bulls.
Calipari has always wanted another crack at the NBA after he failed as coach of the New Jersey Nets.
Coaching the Bulls would give him a much more competitive team and the chance to work with former point guard Derrick Rose.
Calipari apparently hasn’t exactly gotten off to a smooth start with the Kentucky administration, which sounds reminiscent of Billy Gillispie.
Publically, Calipari is making it clear he has no interest in the job and is very happy at Kentucky.

After rumors have been flying for days, the Chicago Bulls have fired head coach Vinny Del Negro.
It doesn’t come as a huge surprise given the team’s disappointing finish and Del Negro’s problems with John Paxson.
The two never saw eye-to-eye, which is pretty important between the head coach and general manager.
The Bulls will begin a search for their next coach immediately, with Doug Collins likely one of the candidates.
Chicago is hoping to lure one of two big free agents to the Windy City in the offseason, with LeBron James topping their list.
